Competition update: books still free

Okay, so maybe I'm a bit of a demanding task-master. Guess that's what comes from writing a book with Aliya. She's a tough mistress. (Note the continued use of hyphenation regardless.)

Anywway, if you want to enter the competition but find the entry requirements a little over-zealous, you can still do so by completing the following sentence:

Although I'd love a copy of Gratia Placenti or Apex Digest #7, I can't be bothered writing a duelling viewpoint with the story Neil has on Ian Hocking's Fiction Flash because I have better things to do with my time, such as...

They're a hard crowd, Neil.

Perhaps you'd better threaten them with randomly mailing it to one of them unless they give you a good reason why not.

Like David, they obviously all have subscriptions to Apex and being huge fans of mine all rushed out to buy a copy of Gratia Placenti when it was released.

I'm a bit of hyphen-fiend myself, Neil. Who wants to see "cooperate" on their page? (Or even worse, "cooperate" with the bloody diacritcal mark). Stick with 'em!

Tim. That's the closest we've come to an entry. You just won yourself a copy of Gratia Placenti! Email me your address - I think we're almost in the same county so that should save on postage!

Wow! I'm awed and stunned to win a prize in a competition I haven't entered.

Nonetheless I'd like to thank everyone on the awards committee, my agent (if I had one), Macmillan New Writing, my long-suffering family and everyone else who's contributed to my success.

I don't have your email address, Neil, so I've sent my postal address to the Serendipity submissions account. There's a logic of sorts there.

Yippee!

Congrats, Tim. Be sure to get "Winner of the Ayres Book Award" on your upcoming dust jacket!
